What is an STC?
"STC" is the acronym for Supplemental Type Certificate. Major modifications need to be approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and an STC is an CAA-approved engineering data package that details a specific installation in a specific airframe. STCs are required for many installations to certify the alteration in accordance with the requirements of the design of the aircraft.
